Thai army to ring Bangkok as protests loom

BANGKOK: Thailand’s government is much better prepared for political demonstrations in Bangkok this month than it was in April last year when riots saw the army called in to clear the streets, government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn said yesterday.
