Release cars' 'black boxes'

WASHINGTON – AMERICAN lawyers and safety advocates are stepping up efforts to get access to the ‘black box’ installed in Toyota cars, saying this could help shed light on fatal crashes.

The ‘event data recorder’ is a small, square, virtually indestructible container, similar to the ‘black box’ on commercial aircraft, reported the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
